Biography

I joined the EECS department with a major in Computer Network and Distributed Computing at UC Irvine in Sept. 2009. I am now working towards my Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Athina Markopoulou. Prior to this, I worked as a research intern at Institute of Network Coding at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I got my Master's degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Beijing Univ. of Posts and Telecommunications under the supervision of Prof. Junde Song. I worked for 7 years as a network engineer and software designer from 1999 to 2006. I received my B.S. degree from the Department of Computer Science at Peking University in 1998.

Research Interests

My research interests are in the area of network coding, interference alignment, and peer-to-peer techniques. In particular, I am interested in theoretical aspects of inter-session network coding, including applying interference alignment to networks, characterization of the rate region of inter-session network coding, and routing-optimal networks. I am also interested in applications of network coding for wireless networks and peer-to-peer networks, and protocol design for wireless networks. The followings are my current research topics:
   - Applying interference alignment to networks
   - Network code design for multiple unicasts
   - Routing-optimal networks for multiple unicasts
